Description

The Poem for ‘cello and piano was composed by Ian Venables in 1997: it was as the result of a commission from Thomas and Doreen Somerville for their son Bryce.
It was given its first performance in March 1997 at Hagley Hall, Warwickshire, with Judith Cary, ‘cello and Graham J. Lloyd, piano, and later commercially recorded on the SOMM label (CD0101) by Nick Roberts and Graham J. Lloyd. (See Recordings).
